VIPet's Intermediate Obedience Group class is for those whom have attended the Puppy Group Class or Basic Obedience Group Class. The age for this class starts at 5 months old. Reason being after 5 months your dog has reached the maturity level in which they are capable of longer impulse control. If your dogs age falls short of this mark, keep on practicing the lessons learned from your previous class until your fur baby is ready.
Classes run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 6 PM for one hour. The program is a total of six weeks. During these six weeks your dog will learn to hold their commands for increased time, distance and distractions Theresa will guide you through this boot camp mentality....what she calls "getting out of kindergarten".
To make sure your dog is getting proper training along with the answers you are looking for, VIPet's group classes max out at four dogs. Each week you will have homework to work on until your next scheduled class. The biggest factor in dog training is the human element and their communication with their dog. You will learn the different techniques and methods that this communication requires from proper leash handling to reading your dogs body language. You the handler need proper training as much if not more than the dog requires. Theresa's "show and tell" method sets you up for success showing you the proper methods needed. Then it's your turn....and you will be amazed at what you will learn. She will give you feedback while you are handling your dog for that specific task. Dog training is not an easy journey or else you would of not have reached out to VIPet.
