For dog owners with busy schedules or those lacking the necessary expertise to effectively train their dogs, board and train programs present a viable solution. Board and train programs are particularly beneficial for owners who may not have the time required to consistently work on their dog’s behavior at home, but many other reasons apply.
VIPet has clients that do not have the physical ability to properly apply a rigorous training program in their lifestyle. We have also seen clients that are going away on a vacation and for whatever reason can not take their fur baby with them. They will need to board their very important pet anyways, so why not get the necessary training along with that. There are other numerous scenarios for the need of a board and train. Whatever the case....we are here to help and will discuss why VIPet Services board and train programs are leaps and bounds above other facilities.
First and foremost, Theresa will be training your dog while staying in a home environment. if your dog lives in your house with you, you need a board and train facility that keeps their charges in a home environment. Many facilities keep their dogs in kennels. How is your dog supposed to learn the rules of your home if they aren’t even being trained in one? These kennel environment facilities try to sell use of monitoring with their stay and the use of cameras. What good is distance monitoring unless the trainer is constantly watching the monitor?
Other facilities will also take on numerous dogs at the same time....some while holding down other jobs outside of dog training. Theresa will only take on one board and train at a time knowing the many sessions and time required per day to achieve the proper results. VIPet is her only job and offers other programs to customers, which requires her presence at the clients home or group classes at her training facility. So taking on multiple board and trains is counter productive and unacceptable by VIPets standards.
So your dog participating in a VIPet board and train lives in house and sleeps in the "doggy room" at night, which is adjacent to the master bedroom. The one on one training is performed only by VIPet owner and founder Theresa Goodman. Also, Theresa is a certified licensed vet tech of over 30 years which gives you piece of mind if something medical wise should happen.
During your dogs stay at VIPet, he/she will be properly introduced to her own personal dogs. While Theresa has a secure fenced in back yard, she will always be on hand supervising while out, usually starting on leash until she can fully evaluate the student. Safety is of the utmost concern !!
Also during this training period there will be numerous "field trips" or real world situations off premise to proof your dog. You will be sent videos, pictures and text updates to show the progress of your loved one. Theresa understands you will miss your dog that you love...she happens to have a fur baby of her own she loves immensely, so she knows of the importance to keep you in the loop.
After the training period is done....she will set up a discharge time to meet and go over in great detail of how to continue for a smooth transition period in your household. This is usually a 2 hour meeting at which time you will also be provided with documentation of how and what is needed to carry on. This meeting will not end until you feel comfortable and all questions and concerns you may have are covered explicitly. It’s essential that you continue the training process to ensure new behaviors stick. If your dog learned to sit at the board and train, but you never follow through with positive reward for sitting when they get home, it won’t be long before they stop sitting for you. To maintain good behavior, you must reinforce it with methods Theresa will cover and teach you.
Then follow ups will be scheduled at your home to cover any issues that might arise during this transitional period. VIPet urges communication from you on these issues to perhaps walk you through it or come to see you ASAP before the scheduled times......pro-active !!! There is much more to cover for your serious investment. Contact Theresa at VIPet Services to discuss in greater detail not only for availability but questions you may have. After reading VIPet reviews for board and trains, you will see the common denominator is the client knows their canine will be safe and well taken care of during this process.....not necessarily true at other facilities.
