VIPET BASIC OBEDIENCE GROUP CLASS
VIPet's basic obedience group class is for dogs five months and older whom have not been through the puppy imprinting class. This group class will max out at four dogs for a one hour session in our training facility. Unlike other companies who will get upwards to ten dogs in their classes, Theresa feels that anything over the four dog limit will take away from each dogs much needed quality time. These group classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and are six weeks long. If your dog has aggression issues, this is not the class for you. Theresa will discuss other options for that situation, always pairing the right dog training for your dog from the many options VIPet has to offer.
This is what separates Theresa from others, the ability to recognize each individual dogs wants and needs and putting them in the appropriate program to succeed. While in this class, Theresa will inquire exactly what it is you want to focus on for your dog. Besides the basic commands you will learn ( place, sit, down, free and come) she will also address other issues. Jumping, barking, mouthing, leash handling and counter surfing are just a few to mention.
While attending the basic obedience group class please feel free to ask any question or concern you may have. Being a certified vet tech also, Theresa brings much more to the table than dog training. You may have questions on nutrition, when to neuter/spay, dog body language, proper collar/leash and the list goes on. She is more than happy assisting in all phases of owning a dog.
One of many of her dog world traits is working with numerous animal shelters. These shelters are full everywhere and inundated with dog behavioral problems, which tops the list of why they are there. VIPet offers free classes to newly adopted dogs and fosters from Rescue Garage, a local shelter in North Port. Her goal is to help train these often abused dogs to become the best they can be to keep them from being returned back to these over crowded shelters. Once you get to know Theresa, you will find out it is not all about the money....it is all about her passion....the dogs.
Also, after your six week basic obedience class ends your dog may develop bad behaviors. She wants you to get a hold of her ASAP to help you nip it in the butt( not literally) with suggestions and helpful tips from her vast knowledge and experience.......determination for your dog to succeed !!
Please contact Theresa to discuss this program in greater detail. Sooner the better, for your dog is learning every minute, whether that is good learning or bad learning.
